Authors After Dark is one of my favorite conferences. Every year I have made new friends and found new favorite authors. This year was no exception, but I picked up a new unexpected obsession, Pokemon Go!
Jess Haines and her fiance got me hooked on the game and Savannah offered tons of Pokeman stops and creatures to fuel my new obsession.
Savannah is a lovely venue for a conference. The city is beautiful and easily navigated. The food is crazy good. I especially loved the Shrimp Factory’s Shrimp and Grits and artful table-side Banana’s Foster. A meal isn’t complete without dessert such as pecan pie or Paula Deen’s yummy butter cake. An added bonus? You can enjoy your adult beverage outside.
The costumes were outstanding as usual and plenty of opportunities were available to wear them, such as the Pirate Lunch and Fantasy Ball.
I sponsored a table at the Happy Ever After lunch and gave away swag including Men of Vegas calendars, various rubber duckies, and books.
I’m super sad to see this fantastic conference come to an end,
